A Mullet Lake Vacation...

The kids and I took our first mini-vacation to the LAKE! We joined 2 friends and their girls at a lake house in Michigan. 7.5 hour car ride wasn't as bad as I had envisioned....though we only achieved a 'trifecta' of all three kids asleep for a brief but blissful 45 min. We played on the shore, waded in the beautiful and clear water, took a ferry ride to Mackinaw Island, and had a really great time. Thanks to Elizabeth for inviting us up to the lake house!

Diego and Audri have their own private 'island' get-away

The two youngest playing footsy on Mackinaw Island...ahh, young love!

Rub a dub dub, three girls in a ....boat!

Loch-Ness Mia

Look everyone! now I can walk all by myself!

Play that funky music....

Mia and Diego were having a jam session on the piano. Too bad we did not have a video of this one. Oh, and a little known fact- apparently photos add not only 10 lbs but DUST! hah, as if our piano would be that dusty- gasp!!!

updates on backyard project....

our plan...everything in white is still in the works. so far, kids are enjoying it! we also hope to build a tiered planting box system at the front since theres a big old drop off to get down to the play area.

the sand box is lacking a bit of sand...we transferred all the sand from the turtle sandbox and fell way short...

through the tunnel.

playing together...wow, what fun.

Another Angulo Project....

For those of you who have been over, you know that our backyard is essentially a giant hill- nary a flat space to park a kiddie pool or slide. We have long been wanting to flatten it out...THEN...Rod got a chance to borrow some fun 'toys' from work. Needless to say, after a few weekends, we have a large flat area....and LOTS of dirt. Now for the hard part...getting grass back in the space! It will be fun, we now have a place for little soccer games, volleyball, and general running around. Someday we hope to find a playset....maybe make a firepit...well, you know us...there is always something in the works! COME ON up to PLAY!

Picnic at the BEACH!

We went to the Alum Creek beach- only about 15 mins away....not a bad place to play in the sand, have a picnic , and run around... not too sure about the water. Mia and her friend Josie had a lot of fun playing in the sand- Diego crawled around on the grass, attempted to eat many things that were promptly wrestled out of his hands, and a few rides on the swings.... All in all, a fun afternoonn that we would like to repeat again this year...

Dudie, Dudie, Dooo...

At the "beach"- too cold for the water but great for a picnic dinner w/ friends

First popsicle....YUMMY and Messy! great combo if you're a kid!

Well, at least I should be happy they have finally found a project they can work together on...they were a model in efficiency - well, at least in the unloading part!!

Contemplating bubbles in the backyard....

the classic- face pressed into the glass- courtesy of ROd's cell phone!

Our beautiful baby bug! Diego has been having a tough time the last few days- his 'birthday' present was getting tubes in his ears and now the poor guy has yet another ear infection...we are now looking for the proverbial plastic bubble in which he can live for a while- he needs a break from all the sniffles! hopefully the warmer weather will bring it our way...
